Karan Gupta, a prominent Indian journalist associated with a sports channel in India, has shed light on the backup venue considerations for the highly anticipated India-Pakistan World Cup match scheduled to take place on October 15th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, due to political tensions between the two countries, there remains a possibility of a venue change.
Gupta highlighted that if the Pakistani government does not grant permission for Pakistan to play against India in Ahmedabad, alternative options, including a backup venue, would be explored. The idea of using a backup option, such as neutral territory, would come into play to ensure that the match can proceed as planned.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed concerns over security issues in playing the match in Ahmedabad continuously. Former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi had previously clarified to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that Pakistan would not play in Narendra Modi Stadium. However, there would be no objections if the final match is played at that venue.
Despite the security concerns raised by the PCB, the ICC has scheduled the Pakistan-India match to be held in Ahmedabad. This has led to speculation that if the Pakistan government does not grant permission for the team to play at the designated ground, an alternative backup option might be utilized.
